How to play Rilo Rush

The rules fit in a paragraph. Getting past 100 points does not.

On a keyboard

  • Arrow keys or W, A, S, D to steer.
  • Space pauses and resumes without losing the run.
  • Enter restarts once a run has ended.

On a phone or tablet

  • Swipe anywhere on the board to change direction.
  • Or use the pad below the board if you prefer buttons.
  • The board resizes to fit your screen — no pinching needed.

Scoring

  • Each energy cell is worth 10 points times your speed tier.
  • The tier rises every four cells, up to tier five.
  • Walls and your own trail both end the run instantly.

Three habits that add 20 points

  1. Work the edges early. Keep the middle clear while the trail is short, so you always have a way out later.
  2. Turn before you need to. At tier four the trail crosses two cells in the time it takes to react, so commit to the turn one cell sooner than feels right.
  3. Take the long route to the cell. The shortest path is usually the one that traps you against your own tail.
