How to play Orbit Dash

One button, one decision, repeated: when to let go.

On a phone or tablet

  • Tap anywhere on the field to release.
  • Or use the large Release button below it.
  • The page stays still while you play.

On a keyboard

  • Space or Enter releases. A mouse click works too.
  • P or Escape pauses and resumes.
  • R starts again once a run has ended.

The rule

  • You leave along the tangent — straight on from wherever you let go.
  • Come close enough to the next planet and it catches you.
  • Miss it, or touch debris, and the run ends.

Clean captures

Every planet scores. How you arrive decides how much.

Points

  • Any capture is worth 10 points, times your chain.
  • A clean one adds 20 more.
  • Every three clean captures in a row raises the chain, up to ×5.

Flying clean

  • Aim to pass the planet at roughly the distance of its orbit ring.
  • Straight at the middle is a scrappy capture: it counts, but breaks the chain.
  • So the safe line and the high-scoring line are not the same line.

Three habits that add a hundred points

  1. Let go early, not late. The tangent carries you forward, so releasing a moment before the planet is level with you usually lands the better line.
  2. Watch the ring, not the planet. The faint circle around each planet is exactly the distance a clean capture wants.
  3. Let debris come to you. It circles at a fixed speed, so waiting one extra half-turn is nearly always cheaper than threading past it.

Questions

Is Orbit Dash free?
Yes. No purchases, no currency, no paid advantage. Everything is earned by playing.
How do I control it?
One action: release. Tap the field, click, or press Space, and you let go of the planet you are circling. Everything else follows from when you let go.
What makes a capture clean?
The line you fly, not the speed. Passing a planet at about its orbit distance is a clean capture and scores triple; flying straight at its centre or skimming the far edge still catches you, but scores the base rate and breaks your chain.
What is the debris for?
It circles some planets outside the orbit line, so a clean capture is always possible — but the approach has to be timed around it.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Tap anywhere on the field, or use the large Release button underneath. The page will not scroll while you play.
