How to play Neon Drift
Steering is the whole game. Everything else follows from how close you dare to pass.
On a keyboard
- Hold the left and right arrows, or A and D, to steer.
- P or Escape pauses and resumes.
- R starts again once a run has ended.
The rule
- Traffic never blocks every lane — there is always a way through.
- Touch a car and the run ends. There is no damage, just a stop.
- The road never ends, so the only limit is your nerve.
The drift meter
The one thing worth understanding before your second run.
Filling it
- Passing close to a car fills the meter. Passing very close fills it more.
- It drains the whole time, faster on the harder settings.
- A full meter means the ×5 multiplier and your top speed.
Spending it
- Every car you pass is worth 10 points, times your drift tier.
- A close pass adds more, and an inch-perfect one adds 20.
- Speed rises with the meter, so a high tier is harder to hold — that is the trade.
Choosing a difficulty
Each keeps its own best score, so moving up never costs you a record.
Easy
Lighter traffic and a gentler pace. Room to learn the line.
Normal
The intended balance. Traffic thickens as your drift meter fills.
Hard
Dense traffic, quick drain. The meter only stays up if you commit.
Three habits that add a hundred points
- Aim for the gap, not the car. Pick the space you are driving into early and commit — late corrections are what cause crashes.
- Pass close on purpose. A metre of extra room costs you the meter, and the meter is worth more than the safety.
- Keep the meter topped up. It drains whether you use it or not, so two ordinary near misses beat waiting for one perfect one.

Questions
- Is Neon Drift free?
- Yes. No purchases, no currency, no paid advantage. Everything is earned by driving.
- What is the drift meter for?
- It fills when you pass close to traffic and drains constantly. The fuller it is, the faster you travel and the more each car you pass is worth.
- How do I score more without crashing?
- Points come from cars passed, multiplied by your drift tier. A clean run past a lot of traffic at a low tier scores less than a braver line at a high one.
- Does it work on phones?
- Yes. Drag anywhere on the road to steer, or hold the left and right buttons underneath. The page will not scroll while you drive.
- Is there any crash damage or violence?
- No. A crash simply ends the run. Gamerilo is built to be suitable for all ages.
